There are 3 things that bugs need in order to survive. Food, water and a harborage
or hiding and nesting area. We can’t remove the food and water because you have to
live here too. The only thing that we do with our annual style pest control, is to
remove their hiding places. This is how it’s done, You can not see, touch or smell
anything that we do inside of your home. There is no preparation for you. We apply a
small amount of our products and materials in a lot of places.
We remove all of the accessible switch plates, where you turn on lights and plug
things in, and apply a very fine talcum powder type dust inside the wall voids. This
is where the bugs live and breed. They use the wiring as their natural highway to get
wherever it is that they want to go, whenever they want to. Every switch plate in
your home is connected to the breaker box.
We apply a very fine granulated bait underneath all of the heavy appliances.
(refrigerator, stove, hot water heater, washer/dryer etc.) There is heat from the
motors, moisture from condensation, food particles that fall between the stove and
counter top, it happens in every household.
The most important part of pest control is the outside barrier. Keeping bugs from
getting inside the home. Our technician will treat around all of the doors, windows,
eaves and soffits, basically anyplace that a bug could gain access, we will seal off
with a clear drying liquid. Our technician will also sweep down the outside of your
house for cobwebs, bees, wasp, mud daubers etc.
There is nothing that we use that will kill a bug instantly, that wouldn’t be safe for
either of us. It is a delayed reaction mortality. It usually takes a couple of hours for
them to die. After this style of treatment, its not uncommon to see more activity for
the next two weeks or so. After that, if you feel the need to call for service, than we
are just a phone call away.
